Frequently Asked Questions

Virginia Gun Laws
Q: Where can I find information about the laws concerning carrying a concealed handgun, buying and transporting firearms, etc?
A: The Virginia State Police website has the answers to the various firearms laws. It is an excellent resource and most of your questions can be
answered there. The link is: http://www.vsp.state.va.us/Firearms.shtm
Q: Where can I obtain an application to carry a concealed handgun?
A: Applications for Concealed Handgun Permits can be downloaded from the Virginia State Police website. After completing the application, it
must be submitted to the Clerk of the Circuit Court in the city or county where you reside. You will need to provide proof that you have completed a state approved firearms course, or other firearms training experience, such as your DD214 if you are a military veteran, a Virginia Hunter Education Certificate, or are an active / previous law enforcement officer.

Store Policies
Q: Does Roanoke Firearms do FFL transfers?
A: Yes, however it depends on several factors. Please read our policy below.
Roanoke Firearms will, at OUR sole discretion, accept FFL transfers under the following conditions:
1.) The transfer MUST be pre-authorized by a member of the staff of Roanoke Firearms.
2.) We will NOT accept transfers for firearms which we stock, whether they are in stock, or temporarily out of stock.
3.) Any transfer not pre-authorized by Roanoke Firearms will be refused upon delivery, and the purchaser
and shipper will be responsible for all shipping and related costs.
4.) The fact that an online firearms dealer has our FFL on file from a previous transaction DOES NOT mean
that future transfers will be accepted. Each and every transaction MUST be authorized by Roanoke Firearms.
5.) Since it is beyond our capability to notify each online firearms dealer of these policies, it is the customer's
reponsibility to verify the shipper's claim that Roanoke Firearms will accept transfers. Please perform
this verification BEFORE paying for any transfer from any other dealer.
Thank you,
The management of Roanoke Firearms
Q: What is your layaway policy?
A: Layaway Policy:
We offer a 6-week layaway plan. We require a 20% deposit, and that the firearm be paid for in full within 6 weeks. If a
customer should change his or her mind about the firearm in layaway, we will allow the customer to move the deposit
to a different firearm one time within the first 30 days. No additional transfers may be made after that. In the event that
a customer wishes to cancel the purchase of a layaway firearm, we will issue a store credit for the amount of the deposit,
minus a 15% restocking fee, as we have been unable to sell that weapon during the time it was in layaway.
Q: What is your refund policy?
A: Our refund policy is as follows:
We will be happy to issue a store credit for, or exchange, any accessory in new condition within 30 days of sale. Since
previously sold firearms cannot be resold as new, we are unable to issue credit for firearms. Should you change your mind,
we will take your firearm on trade, based on industry- established pricing of your used firearm.
